15. Calming Your Nerves

w/ Lilian Sjoeberg

I would describe Lilian Sjoeberg as a stress reduction coach. She works with people to minimize the symptoms of chronic illness via various non-invasive forms of nervous system downregulation. She also has a Master’s in biology and, combined with her success helping others, founded Hope Shortcut, an online course that allows people to go through her methods independently. Additionally, she publishes content on her own Substack. I was introduced to Lilian through Gary Sharpe, another author on the platform. Together, they are working to address the effects of Parkinson’s Disease on him.

During our conversation, we discuss instincts and how they relate to chronic illness, the mind-body connection, negative messaging and how it impacts you, instilling hope, Block Therapy and fascial decompression, stored memories, and other topics.

Lilian is from Denmark, and English is not her first language. So please be patient while listening. She is a wealth of knowledge. Besides, most of us can barely speak our native tongue, never mind one from another country…

RARE SENSE
RARE SENSE
The Uncommon Pursuit of Mind Fitness.
RARE SENSE® is hosted by Chris Irwin, a Navy SEAL veteran who faced chronic mental and physical illness for over a decade after his military service. Throughout his journey, he delved into various aspects of mental training, including meditation, breathing exercises, emotional release techniques, and energy work. This pursuit eventually led to the complete alleviation of his symptoms, both mental and physical. He emerged with a profound understanding of what it takes to build a genuinely fit mind. On this podcast, Chris uses the knowledge he gained during that journey to discuss the modern mental health landscape while being completely vulnerable and open about his own experiences and struggles. Mental health isn't something to just treat. It's something to train.
