Dr Gabor Mate's previous book, was instrumental in my learning that childhood issues are a big part of the puzzle of chronic conditions. I look forward to seeing what he has to say in this new book.

I take it one must read this book with a filter. Some book reviews have a self-authenticating quality to them. One review notes references to human caused climate change without acknowledgment of the political and media-driven agenda. Also touting mRNA injections as a medical triumph?

He can be a little "woke" for me at times, for lack of a better term. Yes there was stuff in here that I didn't agree with. But that doesn't mean there isn't good stuff in his work. I think we are too quick to dismiss people that don't agree with us on 100% of our opinions sometimes and in the process miss out on a lot of wisdom. Nobody is going to think exactly the way we do. Nobody.

Johann Hari in "Stolen Focus" also talked about climate change where I didn't think it made sense (regardless of how you feel about that topic.) But the rest of the book was great and I have to check myself at times and resist the temptation to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Sadly, I think that impulse is all too prevalent these days.
