This month’s article was about artistic creation and why it’s vital to mind fitness development. If there was ever a “how to art” book, it’s this one. The War of Art by Steven Pressfield is like a field manual on turning a creative endeavor into a discipline. It’s also easily digestible. The chapters are extremely short. I recommend you put it somewhere in plain sight and consume it in a few minutes daily. It’s a great bathroom reader!
Actually happen to be reading this gem this month for the first time! Have absolutely loved its insights, especially on how to approach passionate projects as a professional ("working for the money") instead of putting too much personal worth into it. Reminds me very much of the spiritual mentality of doing the work for the works sake instead of the outcome (love the buddhist concept that working twice as hard will get you to the goal in twice the time because one only one eye will be on the work while the other is on the goal).
Nice! I first read it maybe ten years ago. I can't remember who recommended it to me but I've read it multiple times since then. One of those ones to keep going back to. The process is truly all that matters. You have to fall in love with that aspect, not some abstract end state. True pros love the day to day.
